India’s star fast-bowler, Jasprit Bumrah did the iconic celebration by Marcus Rashford of Manchester United during India’s match against Afghanistan

India’s star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah was among the wickets yet again as he whipped out an iconic celebration when he took the first wicket for India against Afghanistan. Bumrah gave the breakthrough for India as he dismissed the Afghanistan opening batter, Ibrahim Zadran for 22 runs of 28 deliveries in the match. After the dismissal, Bumrah brought out Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford’s iconic celebration where he points the finger at his head.

The celebration was iconic as many in the footballing fraternity have taken a liking to the celebration, including the likes of Arsenal forward, Bukayo Saka, Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and more. World number one, Novak Djokovic has also used the celebration

Bumrah is not the first to use the celebration in the cricketing circles. His fellow teammate at the Mumbai Indians, England’s Jofra Archer, who is an avid supporter of Manchester United also used the same celebration during his outing with MI Cape Town in the CA20 tournament in South Africa.

Jasprit Bumrah will be looking to continue providing wickets to the Indian side as he has been out for a significant period of time he picked up a back injury in September 2022 and has been out for almost a year. He made his return to the Indian side in August 2023 where he came back for the T20 series against Ireland and then went on to take part in the Asia Cup as well.

India will look to continue their World Cup win as they are up against Afghanistan in their second match in the league stage of the tournament. The star-studded Indian team will be looking to get their hands on a win as they aim for World Cup glory which has eluded the Indian team since their last win which happened in 2011.

The match against Afghanistan is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and the Indian side has had a decent start as they managed to pick wickets at regular intervals at the start of the first innings after Afghanistan led by Hashmatullah Shahidi had won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first.
