India will square off against Bangladesh in their only warm-up game of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Saturday. The Men in Blue will be eyeing to secure a second crown in the tournament’s history.
They haven’t won the competition since its inaugural edition back in 2007. In that event, Mahendra Singh Dhoni spearheaded a young squad to World Cup glory in South Africa. Since then, India has only managed to reach the final once in 2014. This year, Rohit Sharma and company are just coming off the Indian Premier League 2024 season.
Stars including Rohit, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jasprit Bumrah have all produced some stellar performances in the franchise league tournament. They will be looking to repeat the same in the West Indies and United States in the World Cup.
India will play their opening T20I World Cup warm-up game 2024 against Bangladesh on June 1. The match will be hosted at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Bangladesh recently played a three-match T20I series against the United States. The series saw the USA pull off a 2-1 upset against the Asian side. Bangladesh lost both of their opening games before winning the third by 10 wickets against the Americans. They will now be looking to recover from the humiliation in the upcoming tournament.
