Punjab Police is fully geared up for security in the India-Australia T20 match to be held at IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali this evening. DGP Gaurav Yadav himself is taking stock of the security arrangements. DIG (Rupnagar range) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Mohali SSP Vivek Sheel Soni along with DGP came this morning to take stock of the security arrangements.
During this, appropriate instructions were issued to the police personnel deployed in the stadium and its surroundings. Let us tell you that this match will start at 7.30 in the evening. The entry of the audience will start in the evening itself. Every spectator will be given entry to the stadium only after checking. The security cordon of the police will remain in the stadium during the match.
For security reasons, it will be prohibited to carry certain items in the stadium. The stadium has a seating arrangement of 26,950 spectators. After 2 years of the Corona era, such a big match is happening in this stadium, about which the spectators are also excited and this is the reason that all the tickets for the match have also been sold out, the stadium will remain housefull.
Please tell that Mohali is a very sensitive district of Punjab. Being on the border, it is easy for gangsters and terrorists to get out of here by carrying out the crime. On May 10, there has been an RPG attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali. In such a situation, the safety of the players remains a challenge for the Punjab Police.
