Corona cases are increasing rapidly once again in India. The effect of the third wave of Corona is also being seen on Indian cricket. In February next month, West Indies have to tour India for a series of 3 ODIs and as many T20 matches. According to the schedule, all the matches of the series will be played on different grounds. Due to which the headache of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has increased.

If media reports are to be believed, in view of the increasing cases of Kovid-19, BCCI is considering to organize this series on one or two venues only.

The last ODI and last T20 match between India and West Indies was played in the year 2019.

BCCI may reschedule the series
If BCCI sources are to be believed, the Indian Cricket Board is contemplating to reschedule this series. Keeping in mind the Kovid-19, all the 6 matches of the West Indies tour of India can be held at one or two venues only. Holding the entire series at one or two venues will create a strong bio-bubble to keep the players of both the teams safe.

A board official has said in his statement that things are looking very difficult regarding this series from now on. If the peak phase of the third wave of Corona also comes in February, then we will be ready. Getting all the 6 matches at different venues can be overwhelming. In such a situation, the whole series can be considered in one or two stadiums.

All matches will be played from 6 to 20 February
The first ODI between India and West Indies will be played on 6 February in Ahmedabad. The second ODI will be held in Jaipur on 9 February and the last match on 12 February in Kolkata. At the same time, the first match of the T20 series will be held in Cuttack on February 15, the second T20 on February 18 in Visakhapatnam and the last T20 match on February 20 in Thiruvananthapuram.
