Will Pukowski has been included as an opener for the four-Test series against India.

Australia have announced the squad for the Test match against Team India. Five new faces have been added to the team including Will Pukowski. Cameron Green has also got a place in the Test after the ODI-T20. Team India has to play four Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches on Australia tour. The first Test match will be Day Night in Adelaide from 17 December. Before that ODI and T20 matches will be played.

These are new faces in the team

Cameron and Pukowski along with Sean Abbott, Michelle Svepson and Michael Naser will debut the test. Tim Paine will be the captain of the team. While Pat Cummins will be Vice Captain.

Trevor Hohns, chairman of the selection committee, said, “Many players fared well in the opening matches of the Marsh Sheffield Shield. They also included Cameron Green and Will Pukowski. Based on the performance of these two players, they were being sought to be included in the team. We are happy to include these two players in the team. Both of them will get an opportunity to make a Test debut against a better team.

He further said- We have been made Captain and Vice Captain of the team following the traditional tradition. Experienced travid heads have also been included.

Pukowski scored two double centuries in domestic tournament

Pukowski had scored 495 runs in the opening matches at the Marsh Sheffield Shield. Given this, a place has been given in the Test. He will open the Test with David Warner. Former cricketers Ian Chappell and Michael Clarke were recommended to include Pukowski in the four-Test series against India.
