Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Additional Director General and Eastern Seaboard Commander Virendra Singh Pathania said that the ICG is likely to achieve a targeted force levels off 200 platforms(ships) and 100 aircraft by 2025. After the 26/11 terrorist attacks, the ICG has been strengthened with the three fold enhanced platforms and the proposed Coast Guard Training Academy at Bangalore would be an asset for the training of men for the ICG. The land was acquired for it and it would come into reality in the next two year, he said. This would be useful for training and also for the orientation courses for the men in services. On the occasion of Coast Guard Raising Day of the Coast Guard on February 1, the flag officer in an interview said that the ICG has installed 46 radar stations, including 17 in Eastern Seaboard across the country for surveillance. In the next phase around 38 radar stations would come up including 17 in the Eastern Seaboard.
