The 81-year-old Santosh Anand, a famous lyricist of yesteryear, has no work. Son Sankalp committed suicide in 2014. He himself is now physically helpless. Neha Kakkar, the judge of the show got emotional after hearing the story of Santosh arriving on the set of Indian Idol 12 in a wheelchair. He then announced Rs 5 lakh for Santosh’s financial help.

Santosh said that he is having difficulty in paying the bill. After this Neha told him that she wants to help him in any way because she is a very important part of the Indian music industry. After ten years of marriage, Santosh had a son whom he named Sankalp. Sankalp taught sociology and criminology to IAS officers in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was mentally disturbed for a long time. A 10-page suicide note was also written before the suicide, which included the names of several senior officers of the Home Department and DIG 0. Sankalp had alleged that these officials forced him to suicide due to a mess in crores of funds.

After reaching Mathura from Delhi with wife on 15 October 2014, both of them jumped on the railway track near the town of Kosikalan and died in front of the train. His daughter somehow survived in this accident.
