The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the weekly rankings. Indian players have got tremendous advantage in T20 batting rankings. Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer, who performed brilliantly in the T20 series against West Indies, have made a big jump in the rankings.
Venky jumps 203 places
Suryakumar Yadav has moved up 35 places to 21st position in the T20 rankings. On the other hand, Venkatesh Iyer has jumped 203 places to be at number 115. In the last T20 match against West Indies, the pair added 91 runs in just 37 balls.
In this series, Suryakumar Yadav (107) was the highest run-scorer for India, while Venkatesh (92) was also second in the list of Indian batsmen. Team India won this series 3-0 to their name.
At the same time, KL Rahul, who missed the West Indies series due to injury, has suffered a loss in the T20 rankings. Rahul has slipped two places from fourth to sixth position. Former captain Virat Kohli remains at number 10 in the batting rankings. At the same time, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is in 11th place.
No Indian has been able to find a place in the top-10 list of bowling and all-rounders. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at number 20 in the bowlers’ T20 rankings. While there is not a single Indian name in the top-20 in the all-rounder’s list.
Rohit-Kohli retain in Test rankings
Apart from T20, in the rankings of Test formats, Indian captain Rohit Sharma remains at number six with 773 points and Virat Kohli at number seven with 767 points. Star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is second in bowling and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is at number 10. In the all-rounder’s list, Ashwin retained the second position and Ravindra Jadeja at the third position.
Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne, the number one batsman in the Test rankings, Australian captain Pat Cummins, the number one bowler, and Jason Holder top the list of all-rounders.
