India’s Full Schedule at Paris Olympics 2024, August 5 (Monday): Events, Timings, Athletes in Action and More on Day 10 – News18

A fresh week starts with new hopes with Indian contingent aiming to add more medals to the tally. The wrestling events get underway from August 5 (Monday) with as many as five wrestlers aiming to bring home a medal from the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024.

Action from the world of shooting continues with Maheshwari Chauhan and Anantjeet Singh Naruka in action in the skeet mixed team event while the Indian women’s table tennis team will take on Romania in a round of 16 clash. Sreeja Akula, Manika Batra and Archana Kamath are part of the Indian team as aim to seal a quarterfinal spot.

The eyes though will be fixated on rising star Lakshya Sen who will be eyeing a bronze medal from his maiden Olympics as they takes on Malaysian Zii Jia Lee in men’s singles clash. Lakshya lost to reigning Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen in a semifinal clash on Saturday.

In athletics, two Indians will take to the track with Pahal Kiran in action first up in women’s 400m round 1. Later in the day, Asian Games gold medallist Avinash Sable will aim to qualify for the 3000m steeplechase final.

In wrestling, India’s campaign starts with Nisha Dahiya in women’s 68kg freestyle pre-quarters.

In sailing, the two Indians – Vishnu Saravanan and Nethra Kumanan – will continue their campaign in men’s and women’s dinghy events.
