India has won the silver medal in the Asian Youth Beach Handball Championship (Women) thanks to the stellar performance of four daughters of Himachal. The competition was held in Thailand from 25 to 30 April.

The Indian contingent that went to Thailand included four players from Morsinghi Handball Nursery in Bilaspur. Himachal Handball Association President Bharat Sahni said that this achievement of the Indian women’s team has special significance for Himachal. Himachal’s Sanjana, Jassi and Vanshika, who were included in the team, scored several goals one after the other on the rival teams. At the same time, goalkeeper Chetna made her contribution in making the team victorious by thwarting many attacks of the rivals. All these four players are from the nursery of former international handball player Snehlata running in Morsinghi.

Indian Handball Association President Jaganmohan Rao, Vice President Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey, General Secretary Tejraj Singh and Treasurer Vinay Singh, etc. congratulated the players, coaches and other team officials for their excellent performance in the championship.
