In the photo, the woman is seen standing between two mirrors and looking closely at the picture, her hands are positioned in three different ways.

A wedding dress shopping experience took an unexpected twist when a photo shared on social media left viewers baffled and fascinated. Comedian Tessa Coates shared a picture of herself trying on her wedding dress, but the image appeared to have a bizarre glitch. In the photo, Tessa is seen standing between two mirrors and looking closely at the picture, her hands are positioned in three different ways, all without any digital manipulation. This optical illusion led Tessa to describe it as a “glitch in the Matrix” that nearly made her feel nauseous in the street.

For those still confused, the picture, taken with an iPhone shows Tessa’s arms in three different positions. In the first mirror, both of her arms hang down by her sides. In the second mirror, her hands are positioned in front of her waist. Finally, in the third position, one of her arms hangs down, while the other is bent. Sharing the picture on Instagram, she explained, “I went wedding dress shopping and the fabric of reality crumbled. This is a real photo, not photoshopped, not a panorama, not a Live Photo. If you can’t see the problem, please keep looking and then you won’t be able to unseen it. Please enjoy this glitch in the matrix/photo that makes me nearly vomit in the street.”

Later, taking to her Instagram stories, Tessa Coates explained the whole scenario and said, “I sent my sister some photos on WhatsApp and as we’re discussing, at the same time we’re like ‘wait what’ and I had a full panic attack in the street. So I go back to the shop and I’m like are these mirrors videoing? I show the woman in the shop she loses her mind. Later, I walked to the apple store and I said ‘I need a genius now please and I won’t be leaving until I’ve seen a genius’ and the lady was like ‘It’s like two hours away’ and I was like ‘fine I’m not moving’.”

After waiting for two hours, Tessa Coates decided to show the iPhone staff the confusing photo, hoping they would provide an explanation. However, their reactions were far from what she expected. One of the staff members was so taken aback that he described the photo as ‘too gnarly.’ Eventually, a man named Roger came out; who she called a Grand High Wizard in this situation. According to Roger, the unusual effect was due to an update in the iPhone’s camera. iPhone captures a rapid series of images even when not set on features like Live Photos.

She further revealed, “It takes a series of images from left to right and what it’s done at the exact moment that it’s like crossed behind your back. If you raise your arm, in that like split second and then it’s made a completely different image on the other hand side and it’s like an AI decision and it stitched those two photos together and they also said that Google pixel has brought put this new technology, where you take multiple photos and it chooses the best photo for you and iPhone are beta testing this technology.”

Tessa Coates shared that after receiving the explanation; she went home and got some much needed rest.
