Even before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL), there is bad news for the new team Lucknow Giants that their bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Actually Markwood is currently with the national team on the West Indies tour. Injured while bowling in the second test match being played against West Indies in Antigua, he has got a swelling in the elbow of his right hand.

Due to injury, Wood did not even bowl further in the West Indies’ first innings. It is believed that his injury is similar to that of Jofra Archer. Jofra Archer also complained of swelling in the elbow. After which two elbow operations have been done. He has been away from cricket since 2021.

In the auction, Lucknow was bought for 7.5 crores.
Mark Wood was bought by Lucknow Giants by paying Rs 7.5 crore in IPL Mega Auction. 10 teams are participating in the 15th season of IPL. Apart from the already existing 8 teams, Lucknow Giants and Gujarat Lions are participating for the first time. Mark Wood has played only one match in IPL so far. In the year 2018, Wood was part of CSK.

3 England players have been out due to bio bubble
