Team India’s fast bowler Ishant Sharma is standing on the threshold of another big record. If they play against England in the third match to be held at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad from February 24, it will be their 100th Test of their career. With this, Ishant will become India’s second fast bowler and overall 11th cricketer to score a Test match century. Among Indian fast bowlers, only Kapil Dev has achieved this feat before him.

Reached 300 wickets at the slowest speed
Ishant Sharma is the slowest bowler to reach the 300-wicket milestone in Test cricket. He achieved this achievement in 98 Tests. The record of reaching the fastest 300 wickets is also in the name of another Indian bowler Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin completed 300 wickets in 54 Tests.

Maximum 25 Tests against Australia
Ishant Sharma has played the most 25 Test matches against Australia in his career. He has played 19 matches against England. He has played the fewest 1–1 Test matches against Pakistan and Afghanistan. As far as wickets are concerned, he has taken the highest 61 wickets against England. He has taken 59 wickets against Australia.

Australia has the most Test after India
Ishant has played the most Test matches in India in his career. He has played 39 Tests in India. Out of India, he has played the most Tests in Australia (13). He has played 12 Tests in England so far. He has been playing Test cricket since 2007. 2011 and 2018 have been the best for him in terms of more wickets in a year. He took 43 wickets in 12 Tests in 2011 and 41 wickets in 11 matches in 2018.

Century of wickets under the captaincy of Dhoni and Virat
Ishant has played under six captains so far. These six captains have been Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane. He has taken 152 wickets in 47 Test matches under Dhoni’s captaincy, while Ishant has taken 112 wickets in 38 Tests under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.

India won 45 in Ishant’s 99 Tests.
Among the 99 Tests played by Ishant Sharma so far, Team India has won 45. 30 have lost and 24 have been drawn. In his presence, India has won 11 out of 25 Tests against Australia. Won 8 of 15 Tests against South Africa and 7 of 12 Tests against West Indies. India played 19 Tests in the presence of Ishant against England. Only 5 of them have won.

Caught 198 batsmen, 58 bowled
Ishant has taken 302 wickets in 99 Tests so far. Out of these, 198 batsmen were caught out. 58 wickets as bold and 46 wickets as LBW. Ishant has dismissed right-handed batsmen 193 times and left-handed batsmen 109 times.

Alastair Cook out 11 times
Ishant has been bowled out 11 times in his career by former England opener and captain Alastair Cook. Ishant has been dismissed 7-7 times by England’s Michael Clarke, Ricky Ponting and Shane Watson as well as England’s Ian Bell. He has dismissed Jos Buttler of England five times.
