The song 'Jai Ho' played an important role in the career of music composer AR Rahman. This song was very much liked in the film 'Slumdog Millionaire' released in 2008. Subhash Ghai shared an interesting anecdote about this song during an interview. Film maker said- 'Jai Ho' song was made for 'Yuvraj'. We recorded the song, but then we felt that this song would not fit the situation of our film.

Actually, this song was going to be filmed on actor Zayed Khan in the film 'Yuvraj'. But I felt that this song was a bit soft for an aggressive character like Zayed Khan. That's why we did not use it in the film.

Subhash Ghai and AR Rahman have worked together many times
Subhash Ghai and Rehman worked together for the first time in the film 'Taal'. This is because Ghai said that he was the first person who approached Rahman to compose music for Hindi films. Rehman was also to work with Ghai in 'Yaadein'. But Rahman could not work on this project due to his commitment with the musical Bombay Dreams. Even for Subhash Ghai's film 'Kisna', Rahman could find time to write only a few tunes. The album was co-composed by Ismail Darbar.
