In Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, the administration and the police team took major action against those making illegal gutkha. The team of the district administration and the food department raided the gutkha factory located in different areas of Orai and recovered goods worth Rs 60 lakh, including gutkha, supari and other materials being prepared in 4 warehouses. During this time three warehouses have been seized. Sample filled and sent for testing. Also, the Commerce Tax Department has also been involved in the investigation.

Two brands of gutkha and raw material recovered
SDM Orai Satendra Kumar and the Food Department team led by Additional District Magistrate Pramil Kumar Singh on Thursday raided 4 different places including the bus stand and law college of Orai town of Jalaun. During this time, the team recovered a large quantity of Ganesh and Mahadev brand gutkha on the spot. During this time, samples of pan masala, aromatic scoopies, powders used in pan masala etc. are being prepared. Along with this, many Kuntal Supadi, prepared Ganesh gutkha, Mahadev pan masala have been recovered from the spot.

The district administration immediately sealed the goods and filled all the samples and sent them for examination. The value of the goods recovered by raiding the district administration is being reported as Rs 60 lakhs. However, during this period, the illegal businessman absconded.

Deputy Collector Satyendra Kumar said that information in this regard has been given to the Commerce Department.
