Actress Janhvi Kapoor has remembered mother Sridevi on the special occasion of Diwali. Janhvi has told during an interview that her mother used to celebrate Diwali with pomp, decorate the house and do puja with everyone.
While talking to Hindustan Times, Janhvi Kapoor said, I grew up in a family where tradition was a big part of our life and childhood. My mom always loved decorating the house on Diwali. We used to do Diwali puja together, we also used to meet the family on Ganesh Chaturthi. Karva Chauth is also celebrated well in our house. Our Indian heritage, traditions and culture have always been a big part of our lives.
He further said, She (Sridevi) has always been a religious woman. When I wear traditional clothes, I feel closer to my mother.
Janhvi reached the National Award in place of Sridevi for the film Mom wearing a saree.
While sharing the most memorable moment of Diwali, Janhvi has said, There was always a Diwali party at grandmother’s house on Diwali. There used to be a lot of fun food, the whole house was decorated with lights. The whole family arrives prepared. That is a typical Diwali celebration. Puja is done on the day of Diwali either at home or office. For that puja, mother always wore pattu saree and we used to wear pattu pavadai. Then we used to go to grandma’s house for dinner and eat pulao and kidney beans.

Janhvi will be seen in Mr. and Mrs. Mahi
Janhvi Kapoor will soon be seen in the film Mr. and Mrs. Mahi. The release date of the film was announced during the festive season. This film will be released on April 19 next year. In this film of Dharma Production, Rajkumar Rao will be seen in the lead role with Janhvi Kapoor. Apart from this, Janhvi will also be seen in the films Devra and Uljh.
