On the pitch of Nassau County Stadium in New York, the Proteas took 19 overs to chase the target of 104 runs. At one point, the team had lost 4 wickets for 12 runs. In such a situation, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs made a partnership of 65 runs in 72 balls for the 5th wicket and gave the African team victory. Vivian Kingma bowled the first over for the Netherlands. There was a mix-up between Hendricks and De Kock on the very first ball. Kingma’s ball hit Hendricks’ foot. Both batsmen ran for the run, Hendricks stopped De Kock at the last moment. Van Meekeren threw towards the bowler and De Kock was run out.

In the 19th over of the innings, Miller hit a six off Bas de Leede’s ball and saved South Africa from losing. At one point, South Africa had lost 4 wickets for 12 runs.
