Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of the best institutes in the country, will now start engineering and management schools. Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank laid the foundation stone of new buildings for both these schools in JNU. The university aims to build the building of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship for Academic Complex for School of Engineering and Management in the next 20 months.
5-year dual degree course in engineering
During this time, JNU Vice Chancellor M Jagdish Kumar said, ‘When we decided to start these schools, it was also decided that we will repeat the things that are being offered in other engineering or management schools. That’s why we have designed a 5-year dual degree course in engineering, which is special and different in itself. ‘
For management too, the focus has been on areas such as Agriculture Management, Rural Industries, MSME, Rural Development. Demand in these areas will increase in the coming years for ‘Self-reliant India’. Education Minister participated online in this program.
Multidisciplinary universities will be established in the country
On this occasion, he said that under the ‘New Education Policy’ 2020, multidisciplinary universities are to be established in the country. The Union Minister said that ‘most engineering and management graduates coming out of this institute will not find jobs, but will give. They will compete for patents, not for the students salary package.
