MP Subramanian Swamy responded to the tweet
The Union Education Minister released the figures in response to a critical tweet on social media by BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy regarding the JEE Main 2020 exam. In fact, the Rajya Sabha MP tweeted that out of the 18 lakh (admit card) downloading candidates, only 8 lakh appeared for the exam. Replying to this, the Education Minister said, “JEE Main Examination is conducted twice a year. Many candidates would have done well since the previous exam in January, so they would not have felt the need to appear in this exam. We are tracing these figures. “
#JEEMains Exams are held twice in a year. The previous one was held in January this year. Several students who did not appear for the exam in Sept may have done well in the January exam hence did not feel the need to sit for the exam this time. We are ascertaining those numbers.
