1. Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia passed away
On May 15, Madhavi Raje Scindia, the queen mother of the Scindia family and mother of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, passed away. 70-year-old Rajmata was ill for the last three months and was admitted in Delhi AIIMS.

Before marriage, Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia’s name was Princess Kiran Raj Lakshmi Devi.

Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia originally belonged to the royal family of Nepal. His grandfather was Judd Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana, Prime Minister of Nepal and head of the Rana dynasty. He was the ancestral descendant of the Maharaja of Kaski and Lamjung and Gorkha chieftain Ramakrishna Kunwar.

2. Successful test of flying hospital in the sky
On May 14, the Indian Air Force successfully tested the Battle Field Health Information System for Medical Services (BHISHMA) portable hospital at Malpura Dropping Zone, Agra. Portable hospital ‘Bhishma’ weighing about 720 kg was landed on the ground with the help of parachute from AN-32 aircraft of the Air Force.

A successful test was conducted by dropping Bhishma Hospital from a height of about 1000 feet.

In case of emergency or natural disaster, treatment will be provided to Bhishma Hospital by plane or helicopter within 8 minutes. Bhishma will be used in hilly areas like Ladakh and Kargil. The waterproof Bheeshma Hospital runs on solar energy and batteries.

3. ‘Shakti’ exercise started between India and France
The 7th military exercise ‘Shakti’ between India and France began in Umroi, Meghalaya on 13 May. French Ambassador Thierry Matthau and Major General Pranna Sudhakar Joshi, General Officer Commanding, 51 Sub Area, participated in the inaugural ceremony of the joint military exercise which will run till May 26.

The objective of Shakti Abhyas is to strengthen the military relationship between the two countries.

India is being represented by a contingent of 90 military personnel in Exercise Shakti. It also includes the Navy and the Indian Air Force, including a battalion of the Rajput Regiment. The French contingent also has 90 military personnel, who are from the 13th Foreign Half-Brigade.

4. Manika is at number 24 in the world ranking in table tennis.
India’s top female table tennis player Manika Batra set a new record in the Saudi Smash tournament on May 14. Manika defeated world number-2 Wang Manyu of China and world number-14 Nina Mittelheim of Germany.

With her excellent performance, Manika has reached 24th position in the singles ranking with 840 points.

Manika Batra has become the first Indian female table tennis player to make it to the top 25 in the world rankings. He achieved the top position of India leaving behind Sreeja Akula. Manika won the bronze medal in women’s singles in the Asian Cup 2022.

1. Anger among students over postponement of CUET UG exam.
NTA postponed the CUET UG exams for Delhi Region, starting from May 15, a night before. Now students are raising many questions regarding this. Students made many tweets on the social media platform X, in which the anger of the students is clearly visible after the exam was postponed the night before.

Apart from this, students are also angry with the fact that instructions were given to download the admit card a night before the exam, due to which the server remained busy and many students had to face difficulty in downloading the admit card.

One user tweeted and said that instructions were given to download the admit card late at night, but what about those students who do not have a color printer at home. One user wrote that if you reach the center late even by a second, you are not allowed to give the exam, but after waiting for a whole day, the exam is postponed. To what extent is this true? A student wrote that the admit cards could not be downloaded in the entire country, then why was the exam postponed only at the centers of Delhi.

2. Admission in IIT Madras even without JEE score
Do you know that you can get a degree in Science from IIT Madras even without giving JEE exam? JEE score is not required to pursue Bachelor of Science in Electronic Systems from IIT Madras.
