1. Rakesh Mohan Joshi became the Vice Chancellor of IIFT
On June 5, the International Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) appointed Professor Rakesh Mohan Joshi as the new Vice Chancellor. He was deputed as Director at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Management (IIFM), Bangalore. He has been associated with many organizations like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNCTAD, International Dairy Federation. 2. Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft takes off
The Boeing Starliner mission was launched on June 5 at 8:22 pm Indian time. In this, Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams and American astronaut Butch Wilmore left for the International Space Station (ISS). The spacecraft reached the ISS on June 6 at 9:45 pm. Wilmore and Williams will stay in the ISS for about a week to test the Starliner spacecraft and its subsystems.

3. Oleg set a record for completing 1000 days in space
On June 5, Russian astronaut Oleg Kononenko set a world record for staying in space for the longest number of days. 59-year-old Oleg has completed his 1000 days in space. He flew to the International Space Station (ISS) on 15 September 2023. Oleg Kononenko has broken the record of Gennady Padalka.

4. NPCI partners with Peru for UPI
On June 5, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) signed an agreement with the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BPRP). Under this agreement, NPCI will develop Unified Payment Interface (UPI) in Peru. Domestic and international payment network will be established through UPI in Peru.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has announced recruitment in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website navodaya.gov.in.

  • Candidates must have Master’s degree in Psychology (MA/MSc) and one year Diploma in Guidance and Counselling.

1. Questions raised on NEET UG result, how marks were obtained for wrong answers, why and to whom were bonus marks given
The National Testing Agency declared the result of the NEET UG exam on June 4. This time 67 students have secured All India Rank 1 in NEET UG. NTA has clarified that this has happened due to the difference between the old and new NCERT books.

NTA has said that all the 67 students who have scored 720 marks will not be considered toppers. Out of 67, 44 students have received bonus marks due to changes in the answer key. Because of this, these students have scored a perfect score of 720/720.

NTA has said that in our country, younger children study from old books of their elder siblings. In such a situation, we cannot term the answers given on the basis of old books as wrong.

In the chemistry section of the exam, a question related to atoms was asked. In the answer to the question, the students had to tell which of the two statements given with the question are correct. On May 29, NTA released the provisional answer key of NEET UG. In this, option 1 was considered correct. More than 10,000 students had objected to this answer on the basis of old NCERT books.

After investigating the objections received after the provisional answer key was released by NTA, it was found that the answer to this question would be different according to the old and new NCERT books.

2. NEET student in Kota committed suicide by jumping from the 9th floor
A student from Rewa in MP, who was preparing for NEET in Kota, committed suicide by jumping from the 9th floor of her apartment. The student’s NEET result had come a day before. She was depressed due to getting low marks. She had also gone to a class on Wednesday afternoon to clear her doubts.

The incident is from Jawahar Nagar area of ​​Kota (Rajasthan). The girl’s father said that the NEET result was declared on June 4. In this, Bagisha had scored 320 out of 720 marks. She could not clear the NEET exam.
