1. RBI retains repo rate at 6.5%
On June 7, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) did not change the interest rates for the 8th consecutive time. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the interest rates have been kept unchanged at 6.5%. That is, loans will not become expensive and EMI will also not increase. RBI last raised the rates by 0.25% to 6.5% in February 2023.

RBI had not increased the interest rates even in the earlier meeting held in April.

2. Sunil Chhetri retires from football
On June 6, Indian captain Sunil Chhetri retired from football. 39-year-old Sunil played the last international match of his career against Kuwait, which ended in a goalless draw. Sunil Chhetri has scored 94 goals in a career spanning 19 years. He is third in the list of active footballers in the world who have scored the most goals.

Sunil Chhetri is India’s top goal scorer in international football.

3. Sarabjot Singh won gold in shooting
On June 6, India got its first gold in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup being held in Munich, Germany. Sarabjot Singh won the gold medal in 10m air pistol. China’s Bu Shuai Heng finished second with a score of 242.5. Robin Walter of Germany won the bronze medal. Sarabjot Singh won bronze in the 10m air pistol event of the Asian Shooting Championship 2023.

22-year-old Sarabjot scored 242.7 in the eight-player final.

4. Bird flu virus found in humans for the first time
On June 5, the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed the first human death from bird flu. A man in Mexico died from the H5N2 virus, which has never been found in humans before. He complained of fever, shortness of breath and diarrhea. He suffered from chronic kidney failure, diabetes and high blood pressure. H5N2 is a type of avian influenza virus found in birds and chickens.

The 59-year-old man died at a hospital in Mexico City.

2. Application for IBPS RRB 2024 recruitment begins
Notification has been issued for recruitment to Group A and B posts in various Regional Rural Banks of the country. Under this, recruitment will be done on Officer (Scale 1, 2 and 3) and Group B posts like Office Assistant. After the application process starts, candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website ibps.in.

This includes 5585 posts of Multipurpose Office Assistant (Clerk), 3499 posts of Officer Scale I, 21 posts of Trainee Manager Scale II and 129 posts of Officer Scale III.

Educational Qualification :

Must possess Bachelor Degree/ CA/ LLB Degree.

Age Range :

The age limit is 18 to 40 years as per the post. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates of reserved category.

1. In MPPSC result, out of 24 posts of Deputy Collector, only 2 are from General category

Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission has released the final result of MPPSC State Services Exam 2021. Ankita Patkar of Raisen has secured the first rank.
