RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan on The Kapil Sharma Show revealed that SS Rajamouli used to hibernate flies in his fridge while making the 2012 film Makkhi. The Hindi version of the Telugu film Eega was Makkhi. In the show, Jr NTR told that Rajamouli used to do this to do research on flies. Significantly, the star cast of the film had reached Kapil’s show to promote RRR.

Rajamouli accepted
Regarding Rajamouli, Jr NTR said that once Rajamouli used to keep flies in his fridge. Jokingly, Tarak said – When I opened the fridge, there were more flies than food. When Kapil asked the reason behind this, Ram Charan said – “He was hibernating him so that he could study him properly. Although this was when he was making a fly.” After hearing this, Rajamouli simply smiled and nodded in agreement.

Kapil took a jibe at the method of research
After this Rajamouli told why he used to do this. He told that in cold temperatures the flies go into hibernation. In a kind of deep sleep. I did this to make sure the physical formation of the fly in the film was correct. Hearing this, Kapil quipped and said, ‘You shut everyone down. When you made the fly, you put the flies in the fridge. When you made Baahubali, you locked Prabhas in Film City for five years.”

The driver said – have you gone mad?
Rajamouli also revealed that his driver thought he had gone mad for making a fly. He got very angry when he came to know that I was making a film on a fly. He said angrily, “Have you gone mad? Forget these flies and cockroaches, why can’t you make a movie with humans?”

Significantly, Eega, in which Nani, Sudeep and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were the lead actors. It was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The South version of the film was very successful commercially but the Hindi version did not live up to the expectations. Despite this, the film grossed over ₹100 crore worldwide.
