Klopp maintained his cool when speaking with most members of the media following his side’s loss, but he was displeased with a reporter from a Scandinavian TV network who asked why Liverpool seemed to lose their focus in extra time.

Manchester United eliminated Liverpool from the quarter-final of the FA Cup on Sunday. The fixture turned out to be one of the games of the season, as it finished 4-3.

The two teams met in the last eight at Old Trafford and played a brilliant match. 90 minutes were not enough to separate the two sides as the game headed into extra time. Just when it seemed that penalties would decide which team would go reach the semi-final, Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo came off the bench and scored an extra-time winner.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, maintained his cool when speaking with most members of the media following his side’s loss, but he was displeased with a reporter from a Scandinavian TV network who asked why Liverpool seemed to lose their focus in extra time.

The following is the transcript of their conversation:

Reporter: “Normally intensity is the name of your game, so how come it became so difficult in extra-time?”

Jurgen Klopp: “Bit of a dumb question, I have to say. We played I don’t know how many games recently, I don’t know how many games United exactly played. That’s sport. Really disappointed about that question, but you thought obviously it’s good.”

Reporter: “So too many games?”

Jurgen Klopp: “Oh, ah come on, you are obviously not in a great shape, and I have no nerves for you.”

Jurgen Klopp then walked out of the post-match interview, leaving the reporter completely flabbergasted.

Coming back to on-field developments, Liverpool came up with a spirited display and scored two goals late in the first half, thanks to Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah, after Scott McTominay fired the hosts ahead.

Manchester United had a lot of chances to put the tie to bed in the second half, but could not find the back of the net. That cost them dearly as the out-of-favor Brazilian winger Antony, who was brought in as a substitute, found the back of the net. The two English giants headed into 30 minutes of extra time after having great chances to score the winning goal.

Harvey Elliott then redeemed himself by scoring in the 105th minute. The Reds were minutes away from eliminating Manchester United from the FA Cup, but Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo scored twice in the space of a few minutes during the dying phase of the game to knock Liverpool out.
