Amitabh Bachchan’s blockbuster film Namak Halal, which came out 38 years ago, is being remade. Murad Khetani, who produced Kabir Singh, has bought the original rights for the film. The story will be completed by the end of the year or early 2021. The biggest challenge of the remake of the film will be to find the counter actor of Bigby.
Arjun Singh’s role in Namak Halal was inspired by the character Hrundi Bakshi from the Hollywood film The Party, released in 1968. Which was played by British actor Peter Sellers.
Casting will be done after the script is completed
According to Pinkvilla’s news, Murad has also agreed that he is going to remake Namak Halal. Murad said- This film is liked by people of all ages and generations. We are working on the script. However, we have not approached any actor or director for this yet. This will work when the script is finalized.
Music-story-actor everything was powerful
Talking about Big B’s classic film Namak Halal, it was released in 1982. The film starred Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Bobby and Smita Patil in the lead role alongside Amitabh. Unfortunately, these three artists who have worked with Amitabh are no longer in this world. Namak Halal was directed by Prakash Mehra and the music was by Bappi Lahiri, which is still very much liked today.
Funny stories related to shooting
The funniest incident related to the shooting of Namak Halal is related to the I Can Talk English scene. Amitabh had put a condition for this that director Prakash Mehra would stay outside the room, otherwise he would not be able to laugh and shoot.
Smita Patil had locked herself in a room for 4 hours after the shooting of Song Aaj Rapat Jaen of the same film. She was constantly crying because she did not want to dance and sing like a commercial actress.
