Meeting called on protest strategy
Gyanesh Mishra, the state senior general secretary of the Bharatiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal, called a meeting with the traders to discuss the strategy to protest. He said that there is no justification for the rule of issuing food license to a paan and tobacco trader who has set up a stall without any address. In the meeting, the paan, masala and tobacco traders who set up a stall will have to set up two shops side by side.
The order should be reviewed again
Traders said that the order prohibits selling inside the premises, while there is no ban on those selling on the roadside or in kiosks. How will shopkeepers with small kiosks be able to obtain a food license? They will not have any address proof. The authorities should review the order and then take a decision.
