Karnataka Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa was riled up after a student questioned his Kannada speaking skills during a video conference.

As the student remarked “he doesn’t know Kannada”, the minister first went for a quirky and calm reply, saying, “Am I speaking in Urdu? Switch on the TV and see.”

However, as the event to launch a state government programme providing free online coaching for 2,500 CET, JEE, and NEET aspirants neared its end, he lost his cool over the comment seemingly referencing criticism often levied against Bangarappa by the Opposition parties for his limited Kannada skilled. The Congress leader eventually ordered action against the student.
