KKR announced Andre Russell will arrive in India for the IPL 2024 next week via a video of their allrounder singing a popular song from a Shah Rukh Khan movie.
Andre Russell, a core member of the Knight Riders squad, seems to be a big fan of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.
The Caribbean allrounder was recently spotted grooving to the beats of โLutt Putt Gayaโ from SRKโs last film Dunki.
Russell, out for a drive, filmed himself singing the catchy song sung by Arijit Singh.
Going by his seamless pronunciation of certain phrases, itโs admirable that Russell has improved his Hindi a lot over time.
He shares a good bond with several Indian players thanks to his association with SRK-owned IPL franchise KKR.
Russell first time donned the KKR kit in the 2014 edition of the league and went on to become an intrinsic part of their setup.
After wrapping up his assignments at the International T20 League last month, Russell is currently gearing up for a trip to India. He will feature in the upcoming season of the IPL, beginning on March 22.
Announcing the news of his arrival, scheduled for next week, KKR dropped the video of Russel on Instagram, with the caption, โMuscle Russell getting ready for his India trip next week.โ
Earlier in January, Russell paid tribute to SRK by imitating his signature pose after a group-league match of ILT20 in the United Arab Emirates. The superstar was present in the stands to watch the match between his team Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Dessert Vipers.
After the Abu Dhabi-based team won the clash by six wickets, SRK was spotted waving at his players from the stands.
KKR will look to make a strong statement in the 2024 IPL after failing miserably in the past two seasons. They will begin their campaign with a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.
