World Cup Final: IND VS AUS – LIVE
Earlier, the Australian bowlers ensured the Indian batting faltered and were bowled out for a below-par 240 all out in exactly 50 overs on a tricky pitch.
Virat Kohli and KL Rahul hit 54 and 66 respectively after captain Rohit Sharma’s attacking 47 but the ball dominated the bat on a slow, dry pitch. Rahul hit just one four in his half-century illustrating how difficult the pitch was for shot-makers like him.
On a track where stroke-making became extremely difficult with each passing over, KL Rahul’s composed 66 off 107 is worth its weight in gold but he would have ideally liked to bat till the end having done the hard grind.

Starc, a left-arm quick, returned figures of 3-55 while fellow pace bowlers Cummins and Josh Hazlewood claimed two each to end the innings in 50 overs.
Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis claimed five catches in a record for a World Cup final. Left-arm quick Mitchell Starc took 3-55 and Australia captain Pat Cummins a miserly 2-34 in his maximum 10 overs.
