Krushna Abhishek and Sunil Grover are currently a part of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ on Netflix.

Actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek shares his thoughts on Sunil Grover’s impressive return to Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show.

The Great Indian Kapil Show has made an impressive return since its premiere on September 22, captivating audiences with its unique blend of humour and camaraderie. One of the show’s key players, Krushna Abhishek, recently spoke to Indianexpress.com about the enduring bonds of love and respect within the cast, which have been pivotal in creating the show’s magic.

Reflecting on his long-standing relationship with Kapil Sharma, Krushna emphasised their shared journey, saying, “It is now with Kapil’s show that people feel that we have been working together, but we go back way back. Since Comedy Circus, we have known each other, and it has been a lovely experience.” The mutual admiration and respect within the cast have created an environment where their individual talents shine, he said.

He also spoke about Sunil Grover’s return to The Great Indian Kapil Show. Krushna noted, “Yes, Sunil is a very talented person; he has a very different kind of comedy. He has a very subtle style.” He praised Grover’s unique approach, which contrasts with the styles of Kapil, himself, and Kiku, adding, “It has made a huge difference after he rejoined us. He has a fanbase that we got back.”

When asked about the potential return of popular cast members like Sumona Chakraborty and Bharti Singh, Krushna playfully suggested that it’s a question better directed to Netflix. He also shared insights about his comedic rapport with Archana Puran Singh, assuring that she has never been offended by their jokes. “She has never gotten offended. We keep cracking jokes on her even off-camera. She takes it sportingly,” he explained, highlighting the long-standing association they’ve had since 2008.

Krushna also discussed the evolution of his beloved characters, Sapna and Mona, emphasising that creating memorable characters takes time and consistency. “Characters never become hit with just two or three episodes. We need to keep playing them again and again,” he stated. He credits the initial concept of his character, inspired by an air hostess, as part of the unique flavour that keeps audiences engaged.
