A report published by AS has claimed that Real Madrid have decided to appoint Antonio Pintus to take care of Mbappe’s fitness.
While Real Madrid are set to make an official presentation of Kylian Mbappe, the club is understood to be leaving no stone unturned to offer the French star a Cristiano Ronaldo-style treatment.
Mbappe completed his much-talked-about move to Real Madrid last month on a free transfer having reportedly signed a five-year contract with Los Blancos. It is now being learned that the Spanish giants are planning to give the French World Cup winner a Ronaldo-esque facility at the club.
A report published by AS has claimed that Real Madrid have decided to appoint Antonio Pintus to take care of Mbappe’s fitness.
Nicknamed Sergeant, Pintus is known for his strictness during physical sessions and he has a Ronaldo-style project in his hands, as per the AS article. Pintus had previously helped Ronaldo to achieve a stellar athleticism and fitness levels that allowed him to keep playing even at the age of 39.
Antonio Pintus had worked with Cristiano Ronaldo during the Portuguese international’s first stint at the club. In 2019, the Italian fitness coach left Spain and joined Serie A side Inter Milan. Marca reported that the relationship between former Real Madrid manager Zidane and Pintus worsened back then after the fitness coach decided to stay at the club when the Frenchman resigned in 2018.
One of the greatest footballers ever to don the Real Madrid shirt, Cristiano Ronaldo won 16 major trophies and netted 450 goals, during his nine years’ stay in Spain. Ronaldo is now 39 but the Portuguese legend is showing no indications of withering away. Ronaldo is currently plying his trade for Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr and he recently featured in the European Championship 2024, held in Germany.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe’s run at the Euro 2024 came to an end in the semis after France lost to eventual champions Spain. Mbappe sustained a broken nose during his side’s 1-0 win against Austria in the competition. Mbappe did make a comeback in the tournament and was seen wearing a mask in the next couple of games.
Mbappe will join Real Madrid having been the all-time top scorer (with 256 goals) of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). During his illustrious stint in Paris, the 25-year-old managed to win six Ligue 1 titles.
