Thousands died due to heat in Lalitpur
Lalitpur district is experiencing severe heat for the last 5 days. Due to the heat, out of the thousands of bats sitting on the banyan tree in the town of Jakhalon, several thousand bats have died due to heatwave. The bats died due to heat and heatwave in the afternoon.

Thousands of bats sitting on a banyan tree located in Mohalla Talaiyapura of Jakhlon town of Lalitpur district have died. Their bodies were found lying under the tree on Thursday. On receiving information about the incident, forest department officials reached the spot with a team of veterinarians, where doctors conducted post-mortem of the dead birds.
Samples are being sent to RBI
The postmortem report also confirms that the cause of death of the bats was heat and heatwave. Forest department SDO Shirin said that on receiving information about the death of many bats in the town of Jakhlon, a team of veterinarians reached the spot and conducted postmortem of the bodies of many bats, in which the cause of their death was said to be heatwave and heat. Samples are being taken and sent to RBI Bhopal or Meerut for testing.
