A case of attempted rape of a 10-year-old daughter of a village-headed Dalit candidate in a three-tier panchayat election in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, has come to light. The incident is on Wednesday evening. It is alleged that the candidate was sitting with the supporters in her house after the nomination. Just then a young man from the village tried to rape the woman’s daughter. The accused absconded from the spot after his daughter made a noise. The police have arrested him.
Accused youth ran away on making noise
This time in a gram panchayat of Jakhaloun police station, a Dalit woman is in the election fray for the post of village head due to reservation for the scheduled castes. She was strategizing with her supporters, sitting in the courtyard of the house at 8:30 pm after submitting nominations with her supporters on Wednesday. Then a 26-year-old youth from the village came to his house and became a supporter. After some time he quietly got up from there and reached the 10-year-old daughter of the female candidate sleeping in the hut and tried to rape her. Hearing the screaming of the daughter’s screaming, when the candidate reached the hut of his supporters, the young man escaped from the spot.
Accused will be sent to jail
The victim immediately reported to Dial 112. After which the police reached the spot. Here the police have registered a case against the accused youth under Section 376 of the IPC, Poxo Act and SC / ST. Station Head Jakhaloun Ram Prakash Choubey informed that the girl is undergoing medical examination. Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar said that a case has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested. Action is underway to send the accused to jail.
