Lamine Yamal provided the assist for Spain’s opening goal in the EURO final in Berlin. He baffled England full-back Luke Shaw with commendable skills before passing the ball to Nico Williams. The Athletic Bilbao winger made no mistake and slotted it home from the far post. Cole Palmer brought England back to the contest before Mikel Oyarzabal scored the winner to secure a 2-1 victory for La Roja.
Sharing his excitement about the EURO triumph, Lamine Yamal said, “This is the best birthday gift I could have asked for. It’s a dream come true. It got tough when they tied the score, but I don’t know what this team is made of because we always fight back,” as quoted by AP.
Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to feature in the European Championship when he started in Spain’s campaign opener against Croatia on June 15. He netted his first and only goal of the tournament in the semi-final clash against France.
