LeBron James is not just the youngest NBA star to record 35-plus points and five-plus three-pointers in a game but also the oldest to do it.
An incredible LeBron James statistic has caught the attention of the internet. LeBron has been a top performer in the NBA for decade, delivering several match-winning performances for his teams.
In a feat of unfathomable consistency, LeBron, with his game against the Grizzlies today, became not just the oldest NBA star to record 35-plus points and five-plus three-pointers in a game.
The interesting point in this record is that LeBron also holds the record for being the youngest ever player to record the same statline in an NBA game, at 18 years of age.
The 39-year-old took the game by storm today against Grizzlies to score 39 points at the FedEx Forum. LeBron added seven rebounds and six assists to his tally but it still was not enough for the LA Lakers to seal a victory. Combined efforts from Jaren Jackson Junior, Jaylen Wells and Ja Morant saw the Memphis Grizzlies clinch a 131-114 win.
The match between the LA Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies witnessed a heated moment between LeBron James and Ja Morant.
In a heated possession, Morant scored on and taunted Gabe Vincent with the too-small celebration that just did not go down well with LeBron. The multi-time NBA MVP as he returned the favour to Morant on the next possession, hitting the too-small celebration on his opponentโs face.
Ja Morant eventually had the last laugh as the LA Lakers finished with a loss. The LA Lakers are next set to host the Philadelphia 76ers on November 9. The Memphis Grizzlies will face the Washington Wizards on the same day.
