According to Dr. Geeta Khanna, the age of marriage in both cases, whether male or female, is now crossing 30. Due to marriage at an older age, both women’s eggs and men’s sperm become weak. This causes problems in having a child. With increasing age, hormones get affected due to work stress. This also causes problems.
Dr. Malvika Mishra of Lohia Institute said that hardly 10% couples need IVF. Rest of the people find solution through counselling, medicines and IUF technique. Conception through IVF technology and the birth of a child are extremely risky compared to normal. Therefore, it is very important to keep this in mind throughout the entire period of pregnancy. The seminar was inaugurated by KGMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nithyananda did it. On this occasion Prof. KD Nair, Dr. Meera Mehrotra, Prof. Chandravati and Dr. Shakti Tripathi were present.
