In the capital Lucknow today, the employees of the Municipal Corporation have boycotted the work. Employees are protesting at the municipal headquarters gate. The agitated employees include officials from all the organizations of the Employees United Front. This has resulted in a lockout in all zonal offices. Important tasks like revenue collection and cleaning have come to an end today. At the same time, the common people who have reached birth and death certificates are also having problems.

The talks with the city commissioner were inconclusive

In fact, the Employees United Front has been agitating for 9 days, including giving jobs to the deceased dependents. Workers on Wednesday warned of a work boycott. Which was discussed on Tuesday between Municipal Commissioner Ajay Kumar Dwivedi and the United Front. But it did not work. The city commissioner had said that the committee was constituted and given the job. Which was rejected outright by the United Front.

After this, the workers today are mobilizing and sitting on a dharna till they do not accept the demands.

This is the main 9 demands of personnel

  • Regulation of contract employees working till the year 2006.
  • For the employees of Municipality, Nagar Panchayats, pension facilities should be provided like state employees.
  • Immediate redressal of pending salary discrepancies and recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission should be done immediately.
  • Review of vehicles, brooms, soap allowances and all allowances etc. like state employees.
  • 74th Constitution Amendment to be given effect in bodies.
  • The ban on the recruitment of Class IV employees should be removed immediately and the mandate of Grade Pay 1900 should be implemented and the vacant posts of cleaning staff should be recruited.
  • The contractual practice should prohibit the appointment of contract employees.
  • Regulation of employees appointed under Temporary Section-108.
  • Municipal employees to be exempted from general water works, sewer, tax.
