- The houses of BJP MPs and MLAs are surrounded by Congress workers across the state
Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh is the parliamentary constituency of former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi. On Wednesday, Congress workers surrounded the MP’s office in a pre-planned manner to protest against the farmers bill and support the farmers. Congressmen staged a demonstration at the MP’s office by playing a plate.
Hundreds of Congress workers descended on street protests and shouted slogans against the government, sitting on the ground outside Maneka Gandhi’s office, expressing their anger and shouting slogans against the Farmers Bill. The administration had deployed a large amount of police force over the Congressmen. Even after the administration’s refusal, the Congressman sat on the ground at the District Panchayat Gate and protested for hours after playing a plate.
Thali rang in support of farmers
Congress District President Abhishek Singh Rana said that “Today we had a demonstration of the people in protest of the Kisan Bill, to pluck the plate and the elected representatives of the BJP and the people of the Bharatiya Janata Party from their sleep.” When the farmer is protesting, more than 50 lakh farmers are agitating all over the country, then why are not the MPs supporting the farmers and their movement? He said that we will continue to perform under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi until the government withdraws the black law.
