Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing had once opened up about his massive crush on co-star Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green on Friends.

Friends actor Matthew Perry died on October 28 in Los Angeles. He was found dead in the hot tub of his house on Saturday. It was reported that he died of apparent drowning. He was 54.

The actor, who played Chandler Bing on the show, had once admitted that he harboured a massive crush on one of his Friends co-stars. The actor whose role in the classic sitcom was loved by people, had told PEOPLE magazine that he was absolutely taken with Jennifer Aniston before they began filming for the show in 1994.

“The time I realised I had a crush on Jennifer Aniston was way before the show started. It was like two years earlier when I met her and how could you not have a crush on her,” he said, adding, “There was such severe indifference from her that I ended my crush, I had to. So, I think I ended it in time. But I thank her in the book for allowing me to look at her face for like two extra seconds than normal people would,” he had joked.

“I never said it and I hid it, you know, the crush. But, then she married Brad Pitt and I was like, ‘I don’t think I have a chance here’,” he had said.

Days after our beloved ‘Chandler Muriel Bing’ aka Matthew Perry passed away, his Friends co-stars – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer – have now paid an emotional tribute to the actor. Recently, they issued a joint statement and mentioned that they are ‘devastated’ by the loss. The actors also shared that they are in ‘grieve’ and that it will take a little time to process this tragic loss.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” the statement read as reported by People. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” it added.

“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” the statement further read.
