Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz have reached the semi-finals by winning their respective quarter-final matches. Now both of them will face each other in the semi-finals for the second consecutive time at Wimbledon. Last year, both of them clashed in the semi-finals of this tournament, in which Alcaraz won.
In women’s singles, 28-year-old Croatian player Donna Vekic secured her place in the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time.
Medvedev showed the way out to world number-10 Yannick Sinner
Medvedev reached the semi-finals of the men’s singles of the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament by defeating world number-10 Yannick Sinner in the quarter-finals. He defeated Sinner 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3.

Medvedev lost the first set 6-7. He made a comeback and won the second and third sets to strengthen his position in the match. Sinner won the fourth set 6-2, making the last set a close one. Medvedev won the last set 6-3 and turned the match in his favour.

Sinner had to receive treatment from his trainer during the match and left the court in the third set. It was not immediately clear what had happened to Sinner. His heart rate was also checked before he went to the locker room. The 22-year-old Italian returned about 10 minutes later and resumed playing.

Alcaraz also reached the semi-finals
Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has also reached the semi-finals. He won against America’s Tommy Paul. He defeated Paul 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. After losing the first set 5-7, defending champion Alcaraz made a comeback and won the match by winning all three sets in a row. Now he will face Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals.

Vekic reached the semi-finals for the first time
Meanwhile, 28-year-old Croatian player Donna Vekic entered the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time by defeating New Zealand qualifier Lulu Sun 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the women’s singles of the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. She is participating in a Grand Slam tournament for the 43rd time but had never reached the last four before.
Vekic became the second Croatian player to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals after Mirjana Lucic reached the last four at the All England Club in 1999. Sun became the first New Zealand player to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals in the Open era.
