An increase in day and night temperatures was seen in Meerut on Sunday. There have been continuous fluctuations in the weather for two days. At the same time, where light smog was visible for the last 3 days, it increased on Sunday.

Dr. UP Shahi, meteorologist of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Agricultural University, said – An increase in day and night temperatures was again seen on Sunday. The night temperature reached near 20 degrees. The day temperature reached 33 degrees. There was a feeling of heat due to slow wind speed during the day.

The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at the weather office at 32.3°C and the minimum temperature was 19.5°C. According to Dr. UP Shahi, there will be a drop in temperature.

There has been a decrease in pollution which has been increasing for several days, smog has started increasing.

While the air quality index was increasing in the city for many days, it decreased on Sunday. Meerut’s AQI was recorded at 167. AQI was recorded at 106 in Jaibhimnagar, 212 in Ganganagar, 183 in Pallavapuram, 210 at Delhi Road and 195 at Begumpul. At the same time, the effect of smog has started increasing in the city. Light smog was being seen for the last 3 days which increased on Sunday. Due to increase in smog, problems like irritation in eyes, difficulty in breathing etc. are occurring.

Grape is applicable in NCR from September 15

Every year, Graded Response Action Plan i.e. GRAPE System is implemented for prevention of air pollution. This year, it was implemented in NCR from 15th September to prevent air pollution. Apart from the Pollution Control Board, about 23 departments including Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police, PWD, Irrigation Department, NHAI, Municipality, Health Department, RTO are working in Grape. Even after this there is no improvement.

Guidelines to control pollution

  • Tankers for sprinkling water, collecting garbage regularly. Sweeping rooster gets the roads washed.
  • MDA, Housing Development Council, UPCD should install PTZ cameras in the under construction construction, whose area is more than 2000 square meters.
  • All the roads in the district should be made pothole free and this should be done on priority.
  • Municipal Corporation, Municipal Body, Nagar Panchayat should not throw garbage in the open in the district.
  • Resolve air pollution complaints through Swachh Vayu App, Facebook, X etc.
  • Anti-smog guns have been installed at the construction site in Ghaziabad.

Be sure to take these precautions

  • To reduce pollution, first of all do not burn things like polythene and tyres.
  • Do not go to a place where there is a lot of smog. Go out of the house wearing an N-95 mask.
  • Asthma and allergy patients need special attention.
  • People with respiratory and heart diseases should take special care.
  • Diabetes and HIV patients should also take special care.

Morning walkers, elderly, respiratory patients targeted

The polluted air will affect morning walkers, the elderly, respiratory and heart patients and children. Send children to school wearing masks. The elderly, those suffering from respiratory and heart diseases also came out wearing masks. Avoid going out early in the morning and late in the evening. Keep doing breathing exercises. Avoid going to places with dust and smoke.
