Meerut Sujata Yadav, an assistant teacher posted in the primary school, was present in the school only 759 days out of 2920 days in 7 years. During this period, Sujata Yadav continued to take full salary. Contrary to the provision of leave rules, the then headmaster Dharam Singh also went on leave.

Assistant teacher Sujata Yadav has been posted in the primary school of Seena village of Parikshitgarh area of Meerut for 10 years. During this period she remained absent for a long time. When the matter came to the media after a complaint was made, the officials of the Basic Education Department constituted a three-member inquiry committee.

Leave approved contrary to the provisions of leave rules
The investigation committee found that Sujata Yadav, posted in primary school Sena since September 2013, had been suspended twice. After the appointment of new assistant teacher (in-charge headmaster) Kuldeep Singh from March 2014, his salary was stopped due to his absence in the attendance register. The investigation committee admitted that Sujata Yadav’s physical presence in the school and teaching work was very less. The teacher has been granted liberal leave contrary to the provisions of the leave rules.

Investigation revealed that Sujata Yadav did not come to school even for a single day in 2014. In the year 2014, she was sanctioned child care leave six times. His physical presence in 2015 was only 27 days. Child care leave was approved 9 times. His physical presence in 2016 was 131 days. In 2017, she was present only for 43 days. Child care leave was approved 6 times. She remained suspended from August 2018 to January 9, 2020. His school attendance in 2020 was 148 days. Attendance was 187 days in 2021, 173 days in 2022 and 50 days in 2023.
Despite living in Baghpat for 7 years, she went to school on the counting day.
During investigation, a person provided a photocopy of the attendance register of Sujata Yadav during her seven-year deployment in Baghpat. It showed 646 days of child care leave. Got 330 days maternity leave, 425 days medical leave and 143 days unpaid leave.
But no leave was entered in the leave account of physical service register/e-service register. In 7 years, physical attendance in school is recorded only for 150 days. Based on the report of the investigation team, Basic Education Officer Asha Chaudhary issued an order on Thursday suspending Sujata Yadav.
Former headmaster Dharam Singh was also negligent
Dharam Singh, who was the former headmaster of Seena Primary School since January 2024, has also been suspended. By showing Sujata Yadav’s absence in the attendance register, Dharam Singh released her salary for many years.
