Late Saturday evening, a polling party bus and a bike collided head-on near Jalalpur Chatti in Kachwan police station area of Mirzapur. This bus was returning to the district headquarters from the polling centers with the polling party staff and EVM machines.

The youth were returning home
Locals said that Brijesh Tiwari (30) son of Rambhajan Tiwari and Ramdil Harijan (22) son of Kanta Prasad, both residents of the nearby village of Bidapur, were returning home from Kachhwa via Jalalpur on a bike at a high speed, when a bus carrying election workers coming at a high speed hit them in front of Jalalpur village. Due to which both the youths suffered serious head injuries. They have been declared dead by the doctors.

The villagers informed the ambulance and the local police about the incident. The ambulance that reached the spot took both the youths to the community health center. Where the team of doctors declared both the youths dead. As soon as the news was received, a huge crowd of villagers gathered at the community health center.

There were 18 polling personnel in the bus
A total of 18 polling personnel including the presiding officer and police were present in the bus. SHO Sanjit Bahadur Singh said that a school bus was returning to the district headquarters after conducting polling from Khanpur, Sikhar (Chunar). When it reached near Jalalpur, it collided head-on with two youths riding a bike who were going home from Kachhwa.
EVM machine is safe
Both the youths have been declared dead by the doctor. The police has taken the bodies in its custody and has started further action for postmortem. The police has also taken the bus in its custody and is engaged in further action. The EVM machine along with the polling party employees are safe. The information of which has also been given to the higher authorities.
