Movie Review, Donkey: 3 idiots connection in this Hirani film; This time the mountain of expectations may weigh heavily on Shahrukh

Today we will review Shahrukh Khan's film Dunky directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The length of the film is 2 hours 41 minutes. Dainik Bhaskar has given the film a 3 out of 5 star rating.

What is the story of the film?
The story of the film is of Laltu, a village in Punjab. Some youth there are troubled by poverty. His dream is to go to London and earn money. However, due to being from a poor family and not knowing English, he does not get a visa.

Tired and exhausted, they prepare to go to London illegally. Shahrukh Khan i.e. Hardy is the leader of a group of three-four people going to London. The entire storyline is based on what problems arise while going to London.

The film has been released today i.e. on 21st December.

How is the acting of the star cast?
You will not see Pathan and Jawan Shahrukh Khan in this film. The background of the film is Punjabi, but his role as a Punjabi boy Hardy did not seem anything special. The work of supporting actors Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar is definitely tremendous.

Both these actors are surprise elements of this film. Vicky Kaushal's cameo is also worth praising. Taapsee Pannu has done a decent job as per her role.

How is the direction?
Something new is often seen in Rajkumar Hirani's films. Their success rate is also 100 percent. However, Donkey seems to be his weakest film till date. The first half of the film is entertaining, but the story has dragged on a lot in the second half.

There are some scenes of Donkey which will remind you of Hirani's previous films 3 Idiots and PK. Many scenes of the film seem inspired by 3 Idiots. This film is made on an issue which perhaps has not been discussed before. For this Hirani should definitely get full marks.

All the previous films of Rajkumar Hirani have been superhit.

How is the music?
Songs in Shahrukh Khan's films are often chartbusters. There is not a single such song in this film. The songs of the film are not worth listening to separately. A song 'Mahi' in the voice of Arijit Singh definitely feels good to listen to.

This is Shahrukh Khan's third film this year. Before this he was seen in Pathan and Jawan.

Final Verdict, watch or not?
If you are going to the theater with expectations like Pathan and Jawan, you will definitely be disappointed. This film does not match the standards of Rajkumar Hirani's previous films. If you are planning a movie with the family this week, then you can definitely go for it once.

An important information has also been given in the film. Years ago, how did people reach abroad due to lack of visa, what was their struggle. In this film, all these aspects have been shown in an entertaining manner.
