Mumbai: A 4-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries in the hospital after being kicked in the stomach by his mother’s partner for urinating in his pants.
A 4-year-old boy in Mumbai’s Kurla died after being kicked in the stomach by his mother’s lover for urinating in his pants. Omkar’s mother Pujakumari Chandravanshi was at work when the incident happened. The Nehru Nagar police have since arrested Ritesh Kumar, a canteen worker, on charges of murder, reported the Indian Express.
As per the First Information Report (FIR), Pujakumari left for her job as a cook at a local restaurant on October 26 around 1 pm. She left her two children, 6-year-old Sakshi and 4-year-old Omkar, at their home in Patra Chawl, Kurla East.
When Pujakumari returned home around 3 pm, her son complained of severe stomach pain and mentioned that he had vomited. Omkar explained to his mother that he had been playing with friends and, after accidentally urinating in his pants, had come home to change. At that point, Ritesh became enraged and kicked him repeatedly in the stomach and legs, the outlet further reported.

Pujakumari and a neighbour questioned Ritesh as to why he brutally beat up the child. As a result, he left the house.
Pujakumari then took her son to a nearby clinic for initial treatment. However, as his condition worsened, she rushed him to Sion Hospital. Omkar later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Following this, she filed an FIR at the Nehru Nagar police station.
According to the police, Pujakumari has two children with her estranged husband who lives in Bihar. In May this year, she fell in love with the accused and started living with her in a rented house in Nehru Nagar slums.
