Munna’s role was offered first, not Guddu: Ali used to exercise 3 hours a day for Mirzapur, avoided supplements to build his body

Ali Fazal told that he was first offered the role of Munna in Mirzapur, but he refused. After this he got the role of Guddu. He had to work very hard for this role. He used to spend 3 hours a day just doing exercises.

Munna’s role was offered first and not Guddu’s.
In an interview given to Jist, Ali Faizal shared his experiences related to Mirzapur. Ali told that initially he was offered the role of Munna. He also liked this role. But he believed that he would look better in the role of Guddu. For this reason, he rejected the role of Munna and settled for the role of Guddu.

Used to exercise for 3 hours every day for the role of Guddu.
Ali further told that he had to work hard to create the look according to the film. Every day he used to exercise for about 3 hours without stopping. However, during this period, he had avoided protein powder and supplements to build his body. During this period he was not even able to sleep properly at night.

used to be scared while shooting
Ali further told that he was very scared in the initial days of shooting. However, with time he got rid of it. Ali felt that the way his body was at that time, he did not suit the role of Guddu at all. For this reason he remained restless on the set.

When he came to the set for the first day, the director praised his walking style and said – always walk like this. Ali has also admitted that he was very scared even while giving shots.

Didn’t dream of becoming an actor, was expert in sports
During this, Ali also told that his dream was not to become an actor. He studied 11th-12th from boarding school. Here he was a champion in sports. One day his solder got dislocated. Since then he stopped playing.

Then one of his friends advised him to turn to cultural activities. Following friend’s advice, Ali started playing theatre. With time he became interested in acting. Even after coming to Mumbai, he continued playing.

One day he was playing when Rajkumar Hirani noticed him. He liked Ali’s work very much after which Ali was offered the film 3 Idiots. He has also worked in films like Fukrey, Bobby Jasoos and Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi.
