- SP suspends police station on receiving audio, investigation will also be done
The body was forcibly burnt after killing a 12-year-old daughter of a guard of Kundwa Chainpur market in Dhaka block of Motihari. The guard is a resident of the Barbadia municipal area of Nepal. The incident took place on 21 January. After burning the body, the family of the girl was banished from Kundwa Chainpur market to Nepal. The audio of a local public representative talking on the phone to the former police station burnt body has gone viral. In this, the SHO is saying that send the wood to burn the dead body. On Friday, after getting audio from SP Naveen Chandra Jha, he has taken immediate action and suspended the station head Sanjeev Ranjan. Also, a departmental inquiry has been ordered on them. The spot is a few steps away from the Nepal border.
The SP stated that prima facie it is clear from the audio that the SHO was aware of the murder. Post-mortem of the dead body was not conducted after the murder, nor was an FIR registered after giving information to the senior officials. After the murder, an audio clip of the police station instructing to burn the body was found. If found guilty after investigation, strict action will be taken against them. The SP also has a video on hand. This is the day of the incident. It contains some later clips of the incident. SP Naveen Chandra Jha told that an FIR has been registered on 2 February, after the case was exposed after the murder on 21 January. Not registering an FIR after a murder and not doing a post-mortem is a gross negligence.
The guards are said to have lodged an FIR after returning from Nepal, accusing Vinay Sah, Deepak Kumar Sah, Devendra Kumar Sah and Ramesh Sah of gang rape. Apart from this, an FIR has been lodged accusing 8 people of forcibly burning the body after killing. Vinay Sah is the son of the landlord in whose house the guard lived. The FIR states that he had been working in Kundwa Chainpur market for 7 years selling tea and night guard at night. On 21 January, he went to the market. His son also went to the market to buy household goods. After some time, when his son was returning home, some people stopped him on the way. Later, when he reached home, the body of his sister was lying in the house. Thereafter, the local people were forcibly snatched and burnt.
This type of conversation has been claimed in viral audio. Dainik Bhaskar does not confirm this viral audio.
In the beginning of the audio, there is a conversation between the ward member’s husband and the private driver of the police station. It is said that the body of the guard’s daughter is being disposed of quickly. The audio is said to immediately dispose of the dead girl’s body and manage the police station. Many people have claimed to have recorded the audio in that audio while juggling. The audio claims to have a conversation between local station chief Sanjeev Sharan, Munna, the private driver of the police station, and Ramesh Sah, husband of ward number 01 member Asha Devi, and the Nepali guard. The three together are under pressure to bury the dead body on Nepali guards soon. Someone is telling the police station on the phone that the mother of the deceased has left her house. She will reach here by 2 o’clock tomorrow. Cremation will be done only after his arrival. She has not even been told the news of her daughter’s death, at least let her come. She will see her dead daughter. But together they are showing the fear of getting badly trapped in the case. The SHO is saying that send wood to her for cremation, it will be said that the girl has died due to cold. Somebody is also saying that they call and write to the police station, on this the station head is saying – No, no, do not call the police station.
