Legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal has secured a place in the final of the first Grand Slam Australian Open of the year. On Friday, Nadal defeated Matteo Berrettini of Italy in the semi-final match. Nadal defeated seventh-seeded Berrettini 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in a four-set match to book his sixth Australian Open final. After winning the final, Nadal will capture the record 21st Grand Slam.

In the first two sets of the semi-finals, Nadal won a one-sided victory against Berrettini, but Berrettini then came back strongly to win the third set 6-3. In the fourth set too, Berrettini gave a tough fight to Rafael, but in the end the victory was at the hands of Nadal. This match between the two lasted for 2 hours 56 minutes.

Just one step away from the 21st Grand Slam
With the semi-final win, Rafael Nadal is just one step away from a record 21st Grand Slam title. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal currently hold the record for winning the most 20 Grand Slams. Nadal has won the Australian Open title only once in the year 2009.

With whom will the final match be held?
In the quarterfinals, Nadal defeated 14th seed Denis Shapovalov of Canada 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3. The second semi-final of the tournament will take place on Friday itself between Daniil Medvedev of Russia and Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece. Rafael Nadal will play in the final of the Australian Open with the winner of this match.
