Ramayana fair will start from today.
The 49th National Ramayana Fair will begin from today at the shrine of Lord Shri Ram in Chitrakoot. Rajesh Karwaria, working president of Rashtriya Ramayana Mela said that preparations have been made for the five-day fair. Many scholars have come. Ram Navami will be formally inaugurated on 10th April. Lalitambra Peethadheeshwar Jayaram Maharaj will inaugurate it by lighting the lamp and worshiping it. The program of the inaugural session will be presided over by Mahant Sitasharan Maharaj of Janki Mahal. According to the tradition, before the inauguration at four o’clock in the evening, a procession of all the Math temples of Dharmanagari will take place.

Let us inform that in the year 1960, the idea of organizing the Ramayana Mela was conceived by socialist thinker Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia in Chitrakoot. According to the plan presented by him, the Ramayana fair started from the year 1973.
