Sudhir Mishra, who showed the slum world in ‘Dharavi’, has tried the same way again in this film. For this time, he has chosen Worli’s BDD Chawl in Mumbai. Where 15 thousand families live in a 120 pigeon sized chawl. There are skyscrapers all around the chawl, where multinational companies have offices and millionaire houses. People living in Chawl have also become ambitious.
In the circle of fulfilling deep desires from the sea, the Chawl people sometimes take short cut paths, sometimes they have to pay the price. In this chawl, Tamil Dalit Ayyan Mani (Nawaz) lives with his wife (Indira Tiwari) and son Adi (Akshat Das). Hearing the scolding of the scientific boss Acharya (Nasr), he is forced to live.
Iyen’s childhood was spent in trouble. But he does not want to let it recur with his son Adi. Therefore, he keeps on juggling the recommendations of his scientific boss Acharya. The son creates the calculation ability of Adi, even to the point. It also helps the media allegedly finding ‘human angle’ stories.
The fame of Dalits etc. is established as a genius. The father-daughter politician (Sanjay Narvekar and Shweta Basu Prasad), who plays Dalit cards, comes here. Then Ayyan Mani can fulfill his dreams through his son or not, he is in the film.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui with Sudhir Mishra.
Sudhir Mishra actually introduces a person who is allegedly ‘ambitious’ through the role of Ayyan. In order to justify him, he remains trapped in the web of hollow arguments fabricated by himself. Ayane knows what the end result of the game he is playing through his genius son is. But he is so confident in his hollow, false arguments that he constantly takes risks. He makes a ladder of deception, which rarely leads to sky high.
We are actually living in a world where people care more about how things look on the upper side. Actually, what is the reality of that thing, we have nothing to do with that. If lies and hollow arguments are beautifully decorated and brought before us, then we do not delay in accepting them. In the film, Ayyan, scientist Acharya everyone is in ‘Rat Race’. Everyone wants to be convinced of the lies that are being sold in the name of ambition. Social media is doing this work. We are accepting them as true.
Ayyan is also selling his son’s false genius that he has an IQ 169. In the role of Ayyan, Nawaz has again revealed that he is the master of acting. He has got ‘Serious’ with all the rest of the cast. Everyone has done a lively act. As a narrator, even the voice of Nawaz and the person living in the tension of survival has been used.
On the battle of survival system, society and science are in the three modes. Its end is set in the same way as a star, when it becomes a black hole ultimatally. The film however ends on the note where the picture is still pending, my friend.
